holiday workshops

Part of getting ready for the holiday workshops is making sure what I plan will work with the materials I have got for it. Today I had a go on small scale with the hundertwasser inspired mixed media.

My plan is to make the colours pop on black canvas boards, so that even if the children leave some background unpainted it will be dramatic and colourful.

So I had to do a trial run to make sure the acrylics cover the black background.

I worked with a variation on the 'lollipop trees' with lines, faces and raindrops in the background.

I really wanted to see how some metallic paints and foils would work when applied together in layers. My colour pallette today was a bit limited as I wanted to try some of each of the different brands and types of acrylics I have. So the result is not as colourful as hundertwassers art.

I can't wait to see what the children will come up with, some wonderful colour combos, subject ideas and patterns!
